New York Giants: Three things we learned in loss to the Titans
Welcome to the NFL, Saquon
The above picture truly does speak a thousand words. The Giants had absolutely nothing for the Titans on offense and that started by a failure to establish the run.
Just watching the game you knew something looked off with Saquon Barkley. The Titans simply just did an outstanding job containing him.
Saquon has been close to perfect this season. However, I feel like Sunday’s game vs the Titans was his first truly ‘bad’ game. His “welcome to the NFL” moment.
Barkley is just a rookie. He has met all expectations so far and then some. We almost forget that Barkley is just a rookie because he does not play like one.
Well, he did on Sunday. He had nothing for the Titans who schemed against him very well.
On the day, the Giants rookie had 14 carries for 31 yards. He had nothing in the passing game either with just four catches and 25 yards.
It was far and way Barkley’s worst game to date. It was not the cold and wet weather that impacted him either because Titans running back Derrick Henry went for 33 and 170 yards.
So, the Titans were simply the better team on every level on Sunday. Saquon got shutdown and the Giants has no playmakers. They failed to score a single point so what does that tell you.
With this, we learned a lot about the Giants loss on Sunday. However, the number one thing we learned is that the Titans are just the better football team.
