The New York Giants laid an egg on Sunday afternoon vs the Tennessee Titans at home. The Giants literally failed to score a single point and here are three things we learned.

The New York Giants hosted the Titans on Sunday in one of the last home games of the season. However, the Giants barely even showed up.

This game was highlighted by a fake punt. Nothing the Giants did on offense is even worth noting.

The Giants lost the game 17-0. The loss puts them at 5-9 on the season, with little to no hope of winning another game.

With that, here is the first thing we learned in the loss.

Giants are officially out of the playoffs.

You all know how the saying goes. It over ’til it’s over. Well, Giants fans, it is now over. By virtue of their ninth loss and a Vikings win, the Giants are eliminated from the playoffs.

The Giants cannot win the division or make the Wild Card. The NFC is awful this year too so it is a bit of a wasted opportunity.

However, it is better to know their fate now rather than to have kept holding off the inevitable.

The Giants can now focus entirely on 2019 and the Draft. The Giants have a lot of decisions to make and need to see what Eli Manning still has left in the tank if anything.

Also, for those who still want to see wins, the Giants can play spoiler twice. The Colts are right in the heart of the AFC playoff race. If the Giants beat them, it can knock Indy right out of the playoff race.

The Giants also still play the Cowboys who are trying to win the division. The Giants can beat the Cowboys later in the season and try to knock out their greatest rivals.

So, the Giants are playing for nothing more than their draft pick at this point. They do, however, have the rare chance to play spoiler twice.

So, there is still a little reason to watch these last two games for the Giants.

No playoffs for the second straight season is not ideal. The Giants had a terrible season. However, with no playoffs it is another wasted one.

Let’s see if the Giants have at least one more big win left in them.
