The Jamal  Adams Chronicles

Jamal Adams did not have a flashy day if you look at the stats, but he did put in a solid performance.

Here are the final stats for Adams:

  • Four tackles, one sack, one tackle for a loss and one quarterback hit

Flashy? No, but still solid. Especially when you factor in the sack.

Next. Big Cat needs to step up. dark

It actually came after a big play where Adams had to catch up to a Texans receiver.

The score was 16-15 in the fourth and the Texans were embarking on a drive that began on their own 12. Watson hits DeAndre Carter with a pass over the middle and he is off to the races. He gets past Adams who is playing closer to the line and Adams makes the tackle 50 yards later.

The drive moves ahead and it is third and three from the Jets 17. Adams’ sack forces a field goal, and without it the Jets may not have had the chance to win.

Adams makes a HUGE play there. He needs his partner at safety to make sure they are there over the top when he is playing close to the line, so plays like that don’t happen.

Adams needs Marcus Maye healthy. Behind Maye the play just hasn’t been sufficient.

All in all, the two faces of the franchise played quite well on Saturday afternoon against the Texans.
