Defense is on it

The New York Giants are rolling and a big part of that is due to the play of their defense. The Giants defense is coming into this game hot.

Last week against the Redskins, the Giants used turnovers to go out to a 40-0 lead before squandering some sympathy points to the Redskins.

In the game vs the Bears the week before, the Giants once again used interceptions to steal that one.

But, in addition to the immeasurable value that is forcing turnovers, the Giants are playing a team who also has a great defense.

The Titans are almost always around .500  team for a reason, there is now way of knowing which team will show up.

However, we know that their specialty is their defense. It is what carried them to the playoffs last season.

This season, the Titans defense is ranked eight in the NFL in terms of yards allowed. So, they are an elite defense based on how many teams are in the NFL.

The Giants rank 21st on the same merits the Titans’ rank, but the Giants have been getting better at making plays.

So essentially, we know the Titans will bring it. They will rely on their defense to win this game. But, if the Giants defense can keep making plays and keep them off the field, then that gives the Giants the advantage.

What helps is the Titans offense ranks 28th in the NFL in terms of offense based on yards per game. So the Giants should not exactly see much of a challenge.

The Giants do not have to play elite defense, that would help, but just stay hot, keep forcing turnovers, and let Saquon Barkley do his thing with some breathing room.

But I’m about to get into that.
