Some New York Jets fans are disappointed in the win over the Bills because it negatively affected the draft position. It’s time to just live in the moment.

This past weekend, the New York Jets won their first game in almost two months. They fought hard, the offense showed life when it had to and they came up with the victory in the end.

There are fans, however, who are disappointed in the win. After all it did impact the Jets draft position. It turns out that if they had lost, they would hold the number one overall position in the upcoming draft.

Fans believe that Nick Bosa is the answer to their prayers and the Jets must get high enough in the draft to get him. Once the Jets hit six losses in a row some felt that was the only way to have a successful end of the season.

While it’s an understandable sentiment, it’s not staying within the moment.

It’s common for Jets fans to always look ahead to next year, and not live in the moment. Right now fans must live in the moment.

That moment they have to live in is that young quarterback we all have grown to love.

We said from day one that the 2018 season was not about the record. It’s about Sam Darnold making strides as we move forward towards 2019.

All Jets fans can agree that if Darnold proves himself to be worthy going forward, the 2018 season would be a successful one.

For anyone who hadn’t noticed, Darnold led his first game-winning drive at the end of the game on Sunday.

I would say that’s progress. Wouldn’t you?

A 21 year old quarterback showing poise is good. It is progress. This is what we want to see while the team builds around him.

dark. Next. Big Cat has not been worth his draft pick

At 4-9, all we have left is the progress of Darnold. The Jets could win one more game if Darnold is progressing. It’s hard to get that double benefit of Darnold playing well and the team losing.

Even if you could guarantee it, what does that prove? Do we know what is going to happen in the draft? Of course not.

No matter where the Jets pick, be it fifth, third, sixth, or anywhere else, they still can pick the next Vernon Gholston. They don’t need to be number one since they don’t need a quarterback. Talent can be had in the top ten of the draft in any season.

The known factor is Sam Darnold. He needs to show progress and that means the Jets may win. Don’t worry about the pick right now. Live in the moment and worry about the draft pick during the off-season.
