XFL New York: 5 names that would be awesome for the upcoming team

The Tri-Staters.

This name does not sound all that elegant. It sounds bland and boring. However, this wouldn’t be a poor name either.

This is the safest name on the list because it caters to the largest possible market, the Tri-State area. All of New York City, most of New Jersey, and parts of Connecticut can be happy here.

Let’s consider this too, the Mets are named for the Metropolitans. Mets is short for that and that is part of New York.

Let’s not forget the Islanders are named after people who live on Long Island, essentially.

So there is room to give this team a nickname like “isles” or “Mets.”

Perhaps just “Staters” could work or even just the “Tris.”

There would need to be a great logo to go along with this but perhaps a skyline or a “NY” in a way that incorporates the geography would work.

This name might be a tough sell but it leaves a good first impression. It is important to do that. Try to cater to everyone. This is a unique name that really no other city can call themselves.

The Tri-State area is part of New York and unique in its own right so mine as well embrace it. naming it after the natives who live there worked for the Islanders and Mets so it could work for the XFL too
