The New York Jets were able to break their losing streak, finally picking up a win. A late game-winning drive became a win over the Buffalo Bills.
Many New York Jets fans are going to be disappointed as this could hurt the team’s draft position. But a win is a win and that is what the Jets earned in Buffalo.
New York welcomed Sam Darnold back to the lineup though it was nearly short-lived. Following the opening drive, he left the field and went to the locker room with a foot problem. However, he only missed one drive and was back in to quarterback the rest of the game.
Remembering that Darnold had missed the previous three games with a foot problem made the injury that much more worrisome.

The Bills actually ran out to a 14-3 lead in this one and it seemed like another week that Jason Myers would be the Jets best offensive threat.
Trumaine Johnson‘s first of two interceptions turned into only three points. It was at that point that it seemed the game would get away from them.
Trenton Cannon‘s four yard scoring scamper late in the first half brought the Jets to within four at 17-13 at the half.
Despite the no-quit attitude, a late field goal put the Bills up by a score of 23-20. The Jets took over with 2:31 to go, two timeouts from their own 39 yard line.
Nine plays and 61 yards later, Elijah McGuire took the ball in from inches away on a fourth down to put the Jets ahead 27-23.
The play that set it up was the big one they needed. Darnold uncorked a bomb down the right sidelines and Robby Anderson came up with the catch in bounds at the five, setting up a first and goal.
Buffalo had one more chance but that ended with Trumaine Johnson’s second interception that put the game away.
In his return, Darnold didn’t put up gaudy numbers but he got the job done. He went 16-24 for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
He did post the first game-winning drive of his career. Congratulations to Darnold for that, it was the first of what should be many more.
McGuire led the team with 60 rushing yards, and Anderson topped the team’s receivers with 76 yards. His best was the 37 yarder that put the team in position for victory.
Johnson’s performance was encouraging. Trumaine was brought here to make plays. He was signed to pick off passes. He picked off two today which is nothing but good.
The penalties are still one of the biggest problems. The team was flagged seven times for 93 yards in this battle. It’s hard to accept a team giving up nearly a full football field for free.
But hey, it’s a win.
