Todd  Bowles shows absolutely no accountability as head coach of the New York Jets. He makes too many excuses and now talks at the clueless level.

So who else is getting tired of that vacant stare we see from coach Todd Bowles every week? He stands on that sideline for the New York Jets, seemingly contemplating the meaning of life as his team gets beaten up and down the field.

Everyone believes, and rightly so, that Bowles should have been fired after the Bills game. The players are no longer buying whatever it is that he is selling. His message has been lost and that spells the end for a head coach.

The Green Bay Packers fired Mike McCarthy after the game on Sunday. They didn’t wait until the end of the season. There is no reason for the Jets to wait. They should do the same and get rid of Bowles.

It’s not only the play on the field. It’s the fact that Bowles is so disengaged that he doesn’t even take any accountability.

More from Empire Writes Back

I am just going to talk about a couple of recent ones as there are too many examples to go through.

First of all, he seems to be a bit delusional about the work of Jeremy Bates.

Remember the Patriots game, when Bates called 50 pass plays to only 12 rushes? Most of us went crazy over that. Not Todd Bowles (per NJ.com):

"“I thought he called a good game,” Bowles said."

Really? Good for what, coach?

Yes, the Patriots don’t have the best secondary. But that doesn’t mean you can abandon the run game. In case he hadn’t noticed, this isn’t the Rams.

Quincy Enunwa, Robby Anderson and company are not good enough to win a game when Josh McCown throws the ball 50 times.

People that pay attention know that. Todd Bowles doesn’t fall under that category.

And then we have the Titans game. More specifically we have what coach Bowles said after the Titans game.

Next. Three positive takeaways vs. the Titans. dark

All week long we wondered if Sam Darnold was going to make his return or if Josh McCown was going to make another start. We know the result.

When asked about Darnold during his post game press conference. Here was his response:

Let’s unwrap this for a minute. He could have played but he needed more reps. Well, who decides on the reps? THE COACH!!! So he could have played but the coach decided not to give him reps.

OK, makes sense. Well, not really.

Then there is the second part. He could have played this week but it is too early to say he will play next week? Say what? That doesn’t even make any sense.

Bowles proves once again that he doesn’t have a clue. It’s time to end it. Goodbye. Put him out of his misery.
