Here is our initial reaction as the New York Jets offense is not enough catapult past the Patriots so they fell by a 27-13 score.

Well it’s another loss for the New York Jets. They did play better than we expected them to, but in the end the offense was just not good enough to take them over the hump.

47. 13. 30. Final. 27

This one was actually close right into the fourth quarter. It only became a two score differential midway through the final frame. At halftime the score was 10-10 and it was 20-13 after three quarters.

For most of the day the Jets had a shot as the Patriots were not at their best. They had 11 penalties assessed to the Jets’ eight.

To their credit, they did stay with the Patriots through the first half. They matched them score for score.

The record-breaking field goal kick by Jason Myers tied the game a 10-10 heading into the halftime break.

If you didn’t catch it during the game, Myers now holds the record for the most field goals of 55 yards or longer in one season.

Also to their credit, the offense did attempt to push the ball down the field. Unfortunately it just didn’t work out that often.

Robby Anderson was targeted down the field multiple times to no avail, only catching two of his five targets for 22 yards.

The same can be said for Jermaine Kearse who caught six out of 12 targets. He had a key drop in the end zone and Anderson had drops as well.

Those types of mistakes are never going to get it done against New England.

On defense, the Jets stuck around as long as they could. Jamal Adams finished with ten tackles and was all over the field. Avery Williamson posted 11 including a huge hit at the goal line.

However, a Sony Michel one-yard run in the middle of the fourth quarter put the game away.

Fighting hard doesn’t count in the record books, however. The Jets drop their fifth in a row and sit with a record of 3-8.

Next week they have a date with the Tennessee Titans. Hopefully Sam Darnold will be back for that one.
