The New York Rangers

Be thankful for the New York Rangers. Love them or hate them, they are a staple and icon of the City. Hockey is more prominent in New York than one might think.

It is a huge part of the market.

And as the classic saying goes, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

More from New York Rangers

That is the Rangers right now.

They are telling the story of great New York pride. This isn’t a team that is full of stars who were brought in on the classic “New York market is massive” narrative.

These are a bunch of kids who are out there just playing hockey, defying the odds, and winning. That is New York.

There are two tales to New York. Either you move here in a desperate attempt to make it, or you are already here so you need to step up or get kicked out.

The Rangers are both right now.

This “rebuild,” if you would, is working, But, it also an impressive narrative for once.

Rebuilding for the Knicks was always supposed to mean the same thing for the Rangers. Only have young talent, a few proven vets, and build enough capital to one day have an Empire.

Instead, the Rangers are like a person trying to make it in the entertainment industry. They start off a nobody. Figure some stuff out. Pull a few strings, and get given the biggest stage of all, the Garden.

It worked. They are making it. It is early in the season, but they have already made the name for themselves. The story is already told. If they fall off, it becomes a different story.

be grateful for the Rangers this year.

Love them, hate them, do not care for them, they are a part of this city and they are showing what it takes to make in this city.

Winning when no one gave them a chance? That is special. This is a different Rangers team.
