The New York Rangers are playing great and Aaron Judge is a wonderful face of the franchise for the New York Yankees. So, on this wonderful Thanksgiving, what else should New York sports fans be thankful for?

When thinking of New York sports or even New York City in general, two things may come to mind right and that is the New York Rangers and an athlete like Aaron Judge.

But, the Blue shirts being amazing to watch and Aaron Judge being a megastar only begins the list of awesome things happening in New York sports right now.

Every night, there is some sort of New York team playing. Sometimes it is just the Knicks sometimes all four major sports are concurrently playing.

So, perhaps just the ability to say this wonderful market has so many teams, perhaps the sheer volume of teams to watch is the greatest thing to be thankful for, but that is not this list.

Rather, this list of things to be thankful for at this particular time for all the teams.

So, with that, let’s jump right into the list. Here is the first of five things.

Great Soccer

I put this thing at the top of the list not because it is the thing to be most grateful for but because the MLS Season season ends soon with the MLS Final, that the New York Red Bulls could still play in and host, is on December 8.

So, because I know that soccer and the MLS is still not highly regarded as a top sports league in New York, all I will say is just be grateful that both franchises, the Red Bulls and NYCFC.

It is okay to not watch. It is okay to not be an avid supporter of either of these teams, but just be thankful that both teams are perennial playoff teams every single season.

In the summer, be thankful that these teams are good. Are the Yankees off tonight? Okay, give the MLS a chance. Even if it’s just casual.

This Sunday, did the Jets and Giants break your heart? Are you angry at the NFL? Okay, then watch the first leg of the Red Bulls’ playoff series at 5:00 PM.

There is something magical about having both teams, like there are in every other sport, both or all be great and fun to watch.

That is New York with the MLS every year.

Whether tuning in casually because you want to watch a great team or to learn a new sport, or you already are a die-hard soccer fan, never take greatness for granted.

Be thankful you can say “New York has great soccer teams” even if it is in an argument about something else. New York sports are wonderful. The only thing better, is when its teams are great.

The MLS provides that. Bragging rights are bragging rights.
