The New York Knicks should take advantage of the impending Washington Wizards fire sale by going after star guards Bradley Beal and/or John Wall. Here are some potential trade options.

The New York Knicks are off to a horrid start this season, so they should go after John Wall or Bradley Beal if the Wizards are willing to trade them.

The Knicks are a struggling team. This being said, something needs to be changed, and it’s not sitting around waiting for Kristaps Porzingis to return.

So, with this, and the fact that Bradley Beal and John Wall are reportedly available, should the Knicks attempt to reel in either of the All-Star guards?

Well lets look at the facts:

  • The Knicks current guards are Frank Ntilikina, Damyean Dotson and Trey Burke
  • These three are averaging 28.7 points, 7.5 assists and 8.3 rebounds per game… combined
  • Bradley Beal and John Wall are averaging 42.4 points, 11.4 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game combined.

Based on these numbers alone, you would see some serious improvement should the Knicks trade for either Wall, Beal or both.

Now, getting either of these two wouldn’t come cheap, but it’s also not impossible.

The Knicks could most definitely put a package of guards and picks together to go after either of these two and they would see some serious improvement.

Adding either of them to Enes Kanter, Mitchell Robinson and Kevin Knox would make for a somewhat respectable team who could get a lower playoff seed.

This, plus when Porzingis comes back, you’ve got a legitimate guard/forward combo which could make for one of the deadliest combos in the league.

But what would it take for the Knicks to reel in Beal or Wall?

A potential trade for Bradley Beal:

This is something that could give the Knicks a star in Bradley Beal, and when Porzingis gets back they would then have a duo capable of carrying New York to the playoffs.

Now, many of you might not like giving up Tim Hardaway Jr. because of his offensive ability, but Beal is a more well-rounded player.

The Knicks would also be giving up a serious defensive threat in Ntilikina, but it would be worth it in the long run. Ntilikina struggles in a large way on the offensive end.

A potential trade for John Wall:

The trade for Beal would also work for John Wall.

But if the Knicks were to throw a first round pick in rather than a second round pick, they would keep Tim Hardaway Jr.

But if the Knicks wanted to hold onto Hardaway, then Courtney Lee and a first rounder is a package that could work.

Another player worth looking into trading for is Austin Rivers.

Rivers is sneaky and if he’s given the correct amount of minutes, which he would be in New York, he could be a serious threat.

Nonetheless, expect the Knicks to at least entertain the idea of trading for a Wizards player such as John Wall, Bradley Beal, or perhaps Austin Rivers for a much cheaper price.
