New York Jets: Not firing Todd Bowles during the bye makes no sense

The New York Jets have decided to keep Todd  Bowles as the head coach through the end of the season. Once again, the Jets make no sense at all.

It’s Tuesday morning, New York Jets fans. We were all hoping and praying to be waking up today, ready for our first day without Todd Bowles as the coach. It didn’t happen.

If Todd Bowles is praying in the above picture, his prayers were answers. Multiple reports flooded social media on Monday, headlined by insider Ian Rapoport, that indicated Bowles would be the coach until the end of the season.

The Jets, over the last two weeks, have lost games to Brock Osweiler and Matt Barkley. The combined score was 54-17. To say that the team has looked pathetic over the last two weeks, and especially this past week, would be an understatement.

The Bills were using their fourth starter of the season. On the first play of the game he completed a 47 yard pass to a receiver nobody ever heard of, over the big star free agent Trumaine Johnson.

It has not looked this bad in quite some time, folks.

This thing is over, and everyone around seems to know it except for the franchise itself. Coach Bowles is staying. At least for now.

What is making it worse is not only the fact that he is staying. It’s also the narrative going around the media regarding WHY he is staying.

It makes no sense and it makes the fact that he needs to go even more obvious.
