It was a completely negative, in every facet of the game, performance by the New York Jets in their 41-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

New York Jets fans, aren’t you glad that is over? The Jets came home for a game they had a chance to win, at least on paper. The Bills were starting their fourth different quarterback in Matt Barkley. Over the previous three games the Bills had scored twenty points. Then there was yesterday:

41. 16. 10. 30. Final

Let’s break things down. When we do that we come up with one conclusion. There were no positives to take out of this game. There wasn’t a single one.

On offense, uninspired doesn’t even begin to cover it. Pathetic would be more of an accurate description.

The team posted a net of 199 yards.

You mean, bringing in the veteran Josh McCown didn’t set the offense on fire? Shocker.

Maybe it was all the third down and long plays they had to deal with. Running on early downs to set up those third down situations really put the defense on their heels.

The sarcasm is dripping, I hope you all can tell.

The running game couldn’t get going consistently, and they were so far behind it all went on the arm of Josh McCown anyway.

McCown was rusty and inaccurate. That was the only understandable problem of the afternoon. He hasn’t played since last season. It takes some time.

On defense, they just played like an unprepared football, and that is on the coaches.

The first drive said it all. One of the worst offenses the NFL  scored on two plays. Trumaine Johnson would have been better off staying injured as he got beaten by Robert Foster. LeSean McCoy had been running in cement until he faced the Jets.

Just unbelievable. The Jets did a lot of things badly, but for most of the season they were able to stop the run. Against the Bills they played like they weren’t even there. They played like they left their game in the locker room.

They played like the gave up. And when the team gives up, it’s time to make a change.

Next. Observations of a beat down. dark

Defensively, the Jets never did anything to make Matt Barkley feel uncomfortable. This was the fourth starting quarterback in ten games. They needed to get in this guy’s face.

Instead, he got to sit back in the pocket and pick them apart. This just in, that is very bad.

There was nothing really to note on the special teams. Lachlan Edwards did shank a couple of punts towards the end of the game. That can happen when you have seven punts in a game. His leg got tired.

Time for the bye week. Thank goodness.
