Miguel Andujar

Andujar hit .297/.328/.527 with 27 home runs, 92 RBIs, and 83 runs. He broke out after the All-Star break, hitting .319 and hit 15 of his 27 home runs in the second half of the year.

He hit 47 doubles, which is tied for the second-most by a rookie in major league history. The 47 doubles also breaks a Yankees rookie record set by Joe DiMaggio, who had 44 doubles in 1936.

Although Andujar struggled on defense, there are reasons why he should get the Rookie of the Year instead of Torres. Andujar was the driving force for the Yankees offense in the playoffs. He help them make it to the American League Division Series.

Another reason is Andujar was better than Torres in several categories. He was more consistent than Torres and played a little better and was named the AL Rookie of the Month in August.

Torres and Andujar are the first teammates to finish in the top three in Rookie of the Year voting since Wil Myers and Chris Archer did it in 2013, according to the Associated Press.

I think the Yankees have a really good chance at winning Rookie of the Year, although it may be hard to beat Ohtani.

If the Yankees do win Rookie of the Year, then I think it will be Andujar that wins it. Adnujar was better than Torres and Torres’ struggles hurt his chances at winning Rookie of the Year.

The AL Rookie of the Year will come down to Ohtani and Andujar. We’ll just have to wait and see who wins it.
