Janoris Jenkins

Another massive contract that just hasn’t performed up to snuff for the Giants.

Two years ago, Janoris Jenkins was arguably one of the best corner backs in the league.

He was a beast and after coming over from the Rams’ great secondary, he had an immediate impact on the Giants, and their budding secondary.

Fast forward two years, and the $62.5 million invested into ‘Jack Rabbit’ looks like a massive waste of money.

He is set to make over $20 million of it in the next two seasons. His dead cap hit this year was $20 million!

Landon Collins cannot do everything himself. Jenkins was supposed to be the captain of the secondary. This role was quickly transferred to Collins, as he continues to be the brightest spot on the Giants Defense.

Over the past three years, the Giants secondary went from the most promising, to one of the most porous in the league. Jenkins has a lot to do with this free fall.

Just from watching the Giants play on Sunday’s, you can tell this guy just doesn’t have it anymore. Give some of the money back, the Giants could use it to fix many more things.

The Giants are 1-7. The bye week will already be over by this time next week. There are plenty of player not meeting expectations this season, but these three big names sting the most.
