Believe it or not we are now ten games into the NBA season, and the Knicks currently sit at 3-7. Let’s take a look at how they stack up in the East, and how they’ve done thus far.

The New York Knicks currently sit towards the bottom tier of the Eastern Conference with a 3-7 record after losing to the now two win Washington Wizards on Sunday. The Knicks are off to their worst ten game start in since 2014-15 when they started off 2-8, and finished the year 17-65.

Through ten games the Knicks are being outscored by an average of 3.5 points as they let up an average of 109.6 points and score 106.1. This being said, the Knicks games are typically somewhat close and can be flipped in their direction if a couple plays fall their way.

Now to be fair, most games such as the games where they lost by 13, 28, 23 and 11 to the Wizards, Warriors, Heat and Bucks, are out of the picture and not close. But the other three games which they lost to the Pacers, Celtics and Nets by six, two and two, are rather close.

If the Knicks manage to make another shot or two, or don’t commit that extra turnover, they are suddenly in these games and could be at a respectable 6-4 or 5-5 rather than 3-7.

Nonetheless, the Knicks are 3-7 and unfortunately there is nothing they can do to change the past, but what they can do is make adjustments to improve for the future in order to be a more competitive team.

If the Knicks were to make a few minor adjustments, and a couple of bigger ones we could very well see them become a team who can contend for a lower seed in the playoffs.
