Battle for the #1 Pick

The New York Giants might no longer be playing for what the fan base really wants, but they are still playing for something that impacts the long-term future, the number one overall pick in the draft.

The New York Giants suffered a 3-13 season, yet still could not get the first overall pick in last year’s draft. The Giants still picked second, which worked out.

But, there is something so special about that number one overall pick.

The good news is the Giants still have a legitimate shot at the number one overall pick in 2019.

The Giants only have one win. If that holds, they will likely get the top selection.

However, since they cannot win or lose this weekend, they could still hope for some help in regards to the “tank wars.”

The Raiders already did not help the Giants out on Thursday night by losing to the 49ers, the Raiders also only have one win still.

But the 49ers won, so they now will enter next Monday’s game vs the Giants with a better record.

This week, the Giants chances of getting the number one pick could be even higher, or it could stagnate.

This week, if the Browns (two wins), Broncos (three wins), or Bills (two wins), all lose, then the Giants chances of landing that ultimate pick does not get any easier.

However, the only other real threat is the Cardinals, who have two wins, have a bye too.

But the Raiders losing this week did not help the Giants out, despite the Giants not even playing.

The bye week is not off to the most ideal start, but could better if some other “tanking teams” pull out wins this Sunday.
