Lack of Discipline

This might be the most egregious problem with Bowles at this point.

Discipline can be an interesting concept when talking about a coach. After all, we aren’t at practice. We aren’t in the locker room. How can we really be aware of what is going on in terms on discipline?

It depends upon how the lack of discipline manifests itself. When it shows up as misbehavior on and off the field, we get a clear view.

We have the off the field misadventures of Robby Anderson. Most recently it spilled on the field when he threw the ball at a referee.

Don’t forget about the locker room issues, starting with the punch heard around the world that involved Geno Smith.

Trumaine Johnson had has unsportsmanlike conduct penalty call against him during the Browns game.

Then we had the most graphic example of the problem, when Isaiah Crowell decided to wipe his rear end with the football after scoring a touchdown in Cleveland.

None of these issues have ramifications within the team. All we ever hear from Bowles is that they “handled it”. There never is a period of time that a player is benched. It just doesn’t happen.

If you combine that with the fact that these incidents continue, we come to terms with the fact that there is no respect for the discipline in place.

That is a major problem for the coach.
