The Hustle

I wrote about this a couple of times leading up to the season, but Fizdale lead Knicks have a different feel to them.

Hustling, playing defense, diving for loose balls, boxing out, the basics of the NBA have been lost on the Knicks for the better part of two decades.

Now that Fizdale is running the show, all of these “small ball” aspects that aren’t so minuscule are the forefront of the culture change in New York.

Dotson is the face of this movement, and this should be reflected in the box score.

In order to change a franchise, risks need to be taken. Player’s need a gut check, and see if they actually want to be there.

Dotson seems like he wants to be in New York, he is just happy to have the opportunity. Have to give the guy a chance.

Dotson’s attitude is the catalyst behind the movement, and it started in the off-season.

Dotson’s instagram was plastered with pictures of him working out in his native Houston, or with the Knicks other guards. The healthy competition surely pushed each guard to get better, and enhanced the chemistry of the guards.

Only problem is, only Dotson seems to have improved from the offseason training.
