Stick with Stanton

This one is pretty obvious. And this one is almost a whole separate narrative, but it fits this shoe too.

If the Yankees want to have more success in 2019, they need to keep Stanton around. Again, not saying there are plans to move him around, I’m just simply agreeing with the decision to keep him.

Sure, Giancarlo Stanton struggled in the playoffs. In the elimination game, he was embarrassing.

But, he still hit for power and was a significant part in the Yanks hitting the most home runs as a team ever.

So, the booing him, the asking for him to get traded, benching him, it all needs to stop.

He is still an MVP caliber player at his best, and still a threat to go yard any swing at his worst.

There is a massive difference in failing to live up to a $300 million contract and failing to live up to a $300,000 contract.

A player is worth what they make, technically.

But, I’ll even be the first to admit Stanton has not lived up to probably the biggest contract ever. But, that does not mean he is still not a huge asset to the Yankees.

In 2019, just give Stanton time. He can only have one first year in the Bronx and it was tumultuous to say the least.

But, if you take the 2018 Yanks, on the surface, for what they were, and throw in an MVP season from Giancarlo, I can almost guarantee the result is a lot different and better.

So, Stanton coming back to the reality he is supposed to be, the guy, is something the Yankees should not give up on in 2019.

If they do, they will regret it.
