Aaron Boone.

Again, I need to make this clear. Aaron Boone‘s job as the manager of the New York Yankees is safe for 2019. That much can be assumed.

So, when I say don’t give up, I do not mean literally give up on.

With that, if the Yankees want to be successful and get over the hump in 2019, they must put all their marbles in Boone’s basket.

More from Empire Writes Back

In 2018, it is easy to blame Boone for the team’s struggles. Really, his only job was to manage the bullpen and encourage hustle.

Well, he was severely out managed in the ALDS loss to the Red Sox, and he just could not figure out a way to get the team to play it its max potential.

But, and whether this is because the Yankees fans are stuck with him or not, do not give up on him as a manager.

The Yankees players, fans, and team should have faith in him.

They should all hope he has learned from his past, will get better in-game situations, and will have deeper talent to work with.

Do not give up on the vision the Yankees saw in Boone in the first place.

Do not encourage him to drastically change his style or put too much pressure on him. Too much pressure was one of the problems this year.

The Yankees just need to not give up on Boone. Not saying they will, not saying they will not. They just shouldn’t in general.

He is the captain of this ship.

If they want any chance of winning in 2019, it needs to be with Aaron Boone. Changing managers again, even halfway through the season, will likely not result in much improvement.
