Here we take a look at the New York Mets search for general manager. The group is down to three men as the final candidates.

While much of the baseball world has its attention on the World Series between the Red Sox and the Dodgers, the New York Mets have other business to tend to.

As everyone knows, the Mets are in the midst of a search for their next general manager. Sandy Alderson had to step done due to health reasons, and a three-man team performed the job for the rest of the 2018 season.

Now that the season is over, the Mets are looking for the permanent replacement.

A little bit over a month ago, John Carroll wrote about what the new general manager needs to do when they take over. Take a read if you haven’t, he suggests some terrific ideas for the new man to hit the ground running.

But who is that person going to be? The Mets have quietly gone about their business and made their way to the finals of the interview process.

According to beat reporter Anthony DiComo, the Mets are down to three candidates, Doug Melvin, Chaim Bloom and Brodie Van Wagenen. It’s a diverse group that each bring something different to the table.

Today we are going to take a look at each of these finalists. What are there backgrounds? What are some of their successes? Would they be a good fit?

Let’s see what we have, Mets fans.
