We took to social media to discuss the current situation with the New York Giants. Fans sounded off with their responses on how to move forward.

1-6 is not the record that the New York Giants intended on when entering the 2018 season. Fans are disappointed, and understandably so.

Eli Apple has been traded away. The fan base was a little bit jumpy at first, hearing that “Eli” had been traded, thinking it was a different Eli.

The next move was Damon Harrison. He has been traded to the Lions. Clearly the Giants are in rebuild mode.

With the mess that the Giants 2018 season has turned into, it seemed high time to turn to you, the fans, to talk about what to do next.

The question was posed on our Facebook page and now we are going to share responses that we received. So let’s get rolling (

Note: These answers were requested and received prior to the Harrison trade):

John makes excellent points here. Committing to Eli Manning would have been fine if they had figured out a way to protect him. Leaving him behind the same offensive line was a big mistake.

A common theme goes through several of the opinions we received:

A big issue with Giants is the offensive line and with good reason. Eli Manning couldn’t move around much when he was young. Now that he is older, it’s even harder.

According to Football Outsiders, the Giants offensive line is ranked 25th in the league in pass protection, allowing 24 sacks so far. They are on pace for nearly fifty sacks.

It really is time for the Giants to fix the offensive line. Dave Gettleman has a great deal of work to do here.

Next. Three things learned in Falcons loss. dark

This is not a bad idea. Derek Carr is only 27 years old and two years removed from a season of 28 TDs vs six interceptions. Carr has ability.

The downside is, or could be, his ability to keep the respect of his teammates. According to a report from NBC Sports, Carr has a fractured relationship with his teammates in Oakland. That doesn’t bode well for a guy that needs to lead.

Here are some more:

And one more for the offensive line:

I think it’s safe to say that the Giants have a lot of work to do. The fire sale they have begun seems to be the right idea. Time to tear it down and put it back together the right way.

One more opinion that wasn’t seen often on our thread, but I wonder how many agree:

After all of his antics, this too is understandable.
