New York Giants: Three Giants players to watch vs the Atlanta Falcons
The man, the myth, the legend.
Barring the worst possible thing that could happen to the Giants, Saquon Barkley getting injured or missing time, any type of preview involving this team must include Saquon Barkley.
The Giants need him to have any chance to win.
He is nothing short of spectacular and has a knack for the big plays quite unlike anyone I have ever seen before.
If Saquon Barkley renders himself useless, the Giants stand no chance. Point blank. End of discussion.
Eli Manning, and we will leave the should he play-should he not debate for a later date, has clearly lost a pep in his step.
Who to blame for that is a different debate as well.
But, what inept QB play does is this.
It makes a running attack the only way to stay afloat. It makes having a two-way back like Saquon one of the biggest privileges in the league.
The Falcons will at the very least be difficult to shut out. They will find a way to score in this game at some point.
The Giants will have to have an answer and Saquon is their guy,
Saquon has been everything the Giants drafted and then some. He will be the sole reason people will even watch if the Giants fall to 1-10 at some point.
He is the number one player to watch in this game.
No one knows when he will strike next. His inevitable breakout play will happen at some point, and eventually it will win the Giants a game or two.
But for now, just hope Saquon has over 100 total yards and allows the Giants to keep up with the Falcons.
If all else goes well, Saquon will be the player who get the Giants over the hump and win.
If all else fails, Saquon will be the player who leaves a sliver of hope after another loss.
Either way, Saquon’s role is important. Get used to it. That is not a bad thing.
The game against the Falcons will either be a great game because it is two bad teams matching up well, or, it’ll be a poorly played game like expected.
No matter the results of this one, these are the Giants players to watch. It all comes down to Saquon, Engram, and the secondary.
