With a stellar win and a Record setting second quarter, the New York Knicks open the David  Fizdale chapter the right way.

The New York Knicks, looked impressive for long stints of the night.

Coach David Fizdale said he want to get out and run but with purpose, he wanted to rebound better on both ends and need everyone to play defense.

This Knicks team delivered just that on opening night, they brought with them the torch that could be used to light the beacon for the rest of the NBA to start taking notice.

They played hard, with purpose, unselfish and dare I say they even had some fun last night.

Knicks can't afford to be doing this with KP. light. Related Story

Before Halftime

During the second quarter, 49 point run, the Knicks looked phenomenal.

They did everything that a coach and their fans could have possibly wanted, they didn’t play scared and constantly had an answer for the Hawks every time they came back down the court.

The transition is far from complete but taking a look at a lot of the good things the Knicks did would only add to the excitement if they were to reel off a winning streak of any kind to start the season.

Wednesday Night Hawks game in Review

Tim Hardaway Jr. led the way with 31pts, 6 rebounds and five assist.

Second to him in scoring were Enas Kanter who had a double-double 16 points and 11 rebounds and several other players each scoring 15 points included Allonzo Trier, Trey Burke, and Mario Hezonja.

The Knicks were diverse in the manner in how they scored and brought a nice touch from behind the arc and a true desire to finish at the rim.

Allonzo Trier showed off his wild athleticism with a monster one-handed dunk, which has received raved reviews and high praise of being Lebron James like.

An Super Mario “Mario Hezonja” was the perfect complement off the bench, each second chance player took full advantage of this opportunity and Mario was no different.

He did everything that the Knicks wanted of him to rolling with the second group and the whole organization should be excited about the potential he showed last night.

The Kids will be alright!

Allonzo Trier, Mitchell Robinson and Kevin Knox will be just fine.

Both Knox and Trier scored double digits and Robinson does need a little more time to heal that ankle with that large frame.

Maybe a little seasoning in the D-league here and there just to keep him progressing.

Also, Noah Vonleh showed he can play big minutes still and bring a strong presence for a forward/center hybrid.

This is the time to keep getting the young Knicks so much-needed playing time and allow them to play and learn and break out of funks in the D-league no matter what their draft status was .

House Cleaning and Keeping

Joakim Noah, was the second biggest waste of space and money the Knicks have had in the last ten years and never brought anything to team.

After refusing to accept a buyout, the Knicks waived him outright. Glad they tossed out that trash.

Courtney Lee is the next on the chopping block, he was a great signing and even better teammate and Knick.

However, he hasn’t fit into the new design of this young Knicks team and if management can, it would be great for him to end up on a championship chasing team.

Trade him so the Knicks to end up with a back-end first round pick.

It’s only been one game.

Next. You can boo the Giants now, but at least keep an eye on these things. dark

But, it seems like the Knicks are going to at least be steadily competitive and maybe find some draft capital to continue to build while clearing more cap space and preparing for a true chase in 2019.
