What’s the deal at QB?

Finally, the quarterback play.

The reason why Eli Manning specifically wasn’t phrased is because later in the season, the Giants must see what else they have on the roster at the position.

The media killed Ben McAdoo for playing Geno Smith last season. As many will continue to speculate whether that was the right move, the Giants need to see if Alex Tanney or hopefully Kyle Lauletta can play this year.

It doesn’t seem that Eli Manning has anything left in the tank.

He can’t stand in the pocket and deliver a ball under pressure.

He sees ghosts in the pocket when rushers are not there. His arm strength doesn’t seem to be there.

With the NFL changing and getting faster, he is completely unable to extend plays and let his talented receivers find an opening to make a play.

If you watch guys like Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, or Drew Brees, they’re not burners, and they’re not the most athletic. But, they each find clean spots in the pocket to deliver a ball, or are able to elude a rusher with a quick step.

They’re not Patrick Mahomes or Cam Newton, so saying that they need a mobile quarterback is not the case.

Manning just isn’t able to play quarterback in this league anymore.
