With the New York Giants season just about over, here are some things to look for through the rest of the season.

Just six games into this year’s installment of the New York Giants, it seems like there’s no coming back from this horrible start.

With a 1-5 record and 0-2 record in the division, the Giants hopes of being a playoff contender has crumbled before they could even make the halfway point in the season.

With that said, there’s still reason to watch this football team.

Other than keeping an eye on how many big plays Saquon Barkley can make, there will be some key players and units to look for to see if they can make an impact for next season.

The offensive line is an obvious fit here, but more importantly Will Hernandez is one of the biggest guys who can benefit from a wash of a season.

The rookie left guard has been having a decent season.

Some games you never hear of him (which can be good for an offensive lineman), and some games he’s getting blown away by veteran defensive lineman.

Unlike popular thought, entering the NFL as an offensive lineman can be a lot tougher than people perceive it to be. There are many different in-game things that a guard must be able to handle.

Being able to run block for a guard is crucial. Understanding how to pull and seal off holes is difficult to get a feel for. Communication with the quarterback, tackle and center on how to pick up stunts and blitzes.

So a full season of understanding this, during a season that might not mean much can help for next season.
