New York Jets: Top Pro Football Focus grades vs. Indianapolis Colts
Taking one more look at the New York Jets win over the Indianapolis Colts, analyzing the top grades from the game, via Pro Football Focus.
The New York Jets are sitting as pretty as we could have expected. Coming off of their week six win over the Colts they are sitting right in the thick of things with a 3-3 record.
They have achieved that record with a rookie quarterback in Sam Darnold that is getting better with every game. His best game was this past week against the Colts when he went 24-30 throwing the ball.
There are much better days ahead for our beloved Jets.
With all of that said, we are going to take one more look at the win over the Colts, specifically from a grade standpoint.

We are going to review the top grades from the game for both the offense and defense, courtesy of Pro Football Focus (subscription required).
First to the group that put up 42 points, the offense:
- Chris Herndon 90.5
- Sam Darnold 89.8
- Kelvin Beachum 79.8
- Jermaine Kearse 77.2
- Brian Winters 74.6
- Bilal Powell 71.0
There are no real surprises here at the top. Hernon had a great game bringing in both of his targets, one for a score as well as a solid game blocking.
Darnold had his best game as a pro by a wide margin, going 24-30 for 280 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Beachum had by far his best game of the season, nearly hitting an 80 with the overall grade. Seeing two offensive linemen near the top of this list a great sign too.
Now to the defensive side of the football:
- Brandon Copeland 78.4
- Darryl Roberts 73.1
- Avery Williamson 72.1
- Darron Lee 71.6
With the defense allowing 34 points it’s no surprise that the grades were a bit higher for the offense.
Roberts had a nice game, allowing only two catches for 22 yards. His receivers were targeted four times so he only allowed a 50% completion percentage.
Williamson and Lee added an interception a piece. Lee has been strong so far, grading at least a 60 in three out of the six games. His overall grade to date is a 74.0.
