New York Giants owner says Odell Beckham Jr. should talk less, play more
At an owners meeting, New York Giants co-owner John Mara had something to say about star wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr.
With a 1-5 record, the New York Giants have all kinds of problems. From the quarterback right on down, there are too many situations to discuss in one sitting.
Unfortunately for the Giants, their young star wide receiver has made himself one of those situations. And the team isn’t happy about Odell Beckham Jr’s latest visit with the media.
By now you have all heard about the interview. Beckham and Lil Wayne together, and Beckham taking shots at his teammates. He even said that it was a “tough question” when asked if he was happy in New York.

One of the many owners meetings is in progress, and the media is always around to get a quote from one of the 32 owners.
John Mara is co-owner of the Giants. The current holder of the family business was asked about his receiver and he was blunt in response:
Frankly, it’s refreshing to hear an owner be that candid. This is the family business and Mara has every right to tell the world what he feels on this.
He is absolutely right about this.
First of all, the team just gave him $95 million. He can’t say for sure that he is happy in New York? Come on Odell, what are your fans supposed think after hearing that?
Beckham also should understand about keeping dirty laundry in-house. Are all players happy where they are? Of course not. But they don’t all talk about it to the press.
Why? Because talking to the press causes problems in the locker room. It negatively affects the chemistry of the team. The Giants are playing poorly enough, they don’t need this.
Beckham has also started to affect other players. Sterling Shepherd was seen slamming the bench during a recent game. Who did he learn that from?
As talented as he is, Beckham needs to figure out how to control his behavior. It will mar his career if he doesn’t.
