Sam  Darnold Played his Best Game

This was the type of game we all dreamed about out of a Jets quarterback.

We have said all year that Sam Darnold was going to make mistakes. He is a rookie quarterback and he has things to learn. We have to endure mistakes in search of the greater good, a real fantasy quarterback on the Jets that is good.

It’s exciting.

Against the Colts, he did make a mistake with an interception early but he rebounded to put together the best numbers of his career thus far.

Here is Darnold’s line

• 24-30, 280 yards, two touchdowns and one interception

As Jets fans, we had dreams of quarterbacks putting up numbers like that in a game but didn’t actually think it was possible. Now we know that it is possible.

This was the best performance by Sam Darnold so far in his career. He will continue to make mistakes, but he is only going to get better.

Years down the line, we may look at this game, coming out of a loss, as one of the early statement games of his career.

I’m glad I’m along for the ride.
