New York Jets: Reasons they beat the Colts and got back to .500
The New York Jets beat the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday to get their record back to .500. Let’s take a look at how they got that done.
They did it folks. The New York Jets won their second straight game, bringing their record back to .500 at 3-3. It got close but they hung on to win.
As you can tell by the final score, the Colts did stay in it. They made it a one score game a couple of times, including late in the final quarter. However, the Jets recovered an onside kick and that effectively ended the contest.
With all of that, Andrew Luck did throw for 301 yards. That was to be expected as the Jets were down both Trumaine Johnson and Buster Skrine.
Jermaine Kearse was an effective and safe target for Sam Darnold, bringing in nine of his ten targets for 94 yards, leading the game for both teams.
Chris Herndon continued to impress, with a terrific reception down the left sideline while being absolutely blanketed in coverage. The other big one came on a 32 yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.
Above everything else, the Jets did what they had to do in order to win a winnable game. How many previous teams would have laid an egg in this one? I can think of several. This team did not which clearly shows a Jets team on the rise.
Let’s look at some specifics on how they got things done.
