New York Knicks: Getting Chris Bosh wouldn’t be a bad thing
By Alex Jordan
Former Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh is open to playing for any team, including the New York Knicks, if he returns. Bosh on the Knicks could be a good thing.
Former Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh is focused on returning to the NBA during the upcoming season. Would it make sense for the New York Knicks?
Bosh hasn’t played since the 2015-16 season due to blood clots. Last year he was released by the Heat and the NBA and the player’s union ruled his clotting issues as career-ending. He will make a final decision on his career by the All-Star break.
On Monday Bosh was at Madison Square Garden to see the Knicks play the Washington Wizards in preseason action. He told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News that he would be open to playing for any team, including the Knicks.
"“If they make me a deal, yeah. It’s up to the team doctors from that team. And then we go from there.”"

While playing on blood thinners, which Bosh is still on, is dangerous it wouldn’t be a bad thing if the Knicks got Bosh.
The Knicks biggest star Kristaps Porzingis will be out for at least part of the season and Bosh would provide some front court depth for the Knicks.
The former Heat forward is an 11-time All-Star and won two NBA championships in Miami.
He has averaged 19.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in the regular season and averaged 15.6 points and 7.5 rebounds in 89 playoff games in his career.
While the Knicks aren’t looking for a veteran like Bosh, he could help the Knicks win games.
Besides helping the Knicks win games, Bosh would be a good fit for the Knicks since he has a connection with new Knicks head coach David Fizdale.
Fizdale was an assistant coach with the Heat when Bosh was in Miami. Despite the connection with the Knicks, Bosh thinks the team should build the young players that are on the team.
Bosh told Ian Begley of ESPN:
"“Well it’s a building (process) and I think that’s one of the best parts about it. In New York City, it’s a building (process) so, I say this lightly, but it’s kind of like an easy period right now for the city to embrace the team and the young guys and the core of what they’re trying to do. And then later on, then, we’ll start getting into the, I’m sure a superstar, two superstars (are) going to come here and then the narrative will change a little bit. And then it will be on them to live up to the expectations. But right now I think you want to build the young core and have them compete every night. No offense to the (Eastern Conference) but it’s wide open now and I think it’s interesting for the Knicks to kind of make their imprint on the league and really show the Eastern Conference what they’re going to do for the rest of the season and here on out.”"
Speaking of the Knicks young players, another reason why Bosh being on the Knicks isn’t a bad thing is he could mentor the young players. He could also help rookies Kevin Knox and Mitchell Robinson become better players.
So don’t hate if Bosh were to go to the Knicks because it wouldn’t be a bad thing.
