Game Four

Red Sox @ Yankees

Nathan Eovaldi vs. TBD

Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY

8:07 EST Tuesday, October 9th

For Game 4, the Red Sox will put Nathan Eovaldi on the mound in an effort to tie up the series. On the other hand, the Yankees will throw CC Sabathia out there to try to put the series away.

The Red Sox acquired Eovaldi from the Rays back in July. Since then, he has faced off against the Yankees three times.

In those three games, he has gone 16 combined innings, going only two in his latest outing.

In these same three games, Eovaldi hasn’t let up any earned runs but has let up six hits.

With the Rays, however, Eovaldi did let up five earned runs on eight hits in his lone appearance against the Yankees.

On the other side of the ball, CC Sabathia has been hot and cold against the Red Sox this year. In his three games against Boston this year, Sabathia has gone a total of 14 innings, letting up seven combined earned runs on 18 hits.

Prediction: Yankees 8 Red Sox 6

The Yankees manage to knock off the team with the most wins in the MLB behind CC Sabathia.

Sabathia goes four strong before being pulled for Lance Lynn who does just enough to hold off Boston before giving way to Dellin Betances and Aroldis Chapman.

On the other side, Eovaldi lets up four runs in his four innings before giving way to the bullpen. The bullpen lets up another four runs leading to an 8-6 Yankees win and a 3-1 series win.

NOTE: *Game 5 doesn’t happen in this prediction, but could actually be played. That game would take place in Fenway Park due to the Red Sox having the better record. Both starting pitchers would be to be determined*
