Saquon Barkley broke out for another touchdown last week to help the New York Giants get a much-needed win on the road. However, he now has the chance to emerge as a star vs the Saints this Sunday.

The New York Giants and their rookie running back, Saquon Barkley, will welcome the New Orleans Saints to town this Sunday.

The game is a battle of two NFC foes. It can be seen on CBS at 4:25. And even though it is only Week 4, this is a game that can have playoff implications down the road.

However, the Giants just need to focus on winning this week. Luckily for them, they return to Met Life Stadium after two weeks of playing in Texas.

More from Empire Writes Back

The game has many outstanding matchups. Two ageless wonders at QB in Drew Brees and Eli Manning will square off once again.

Both teams also have outstanding wideouts who are stars in Odell Beckham and Michael Thomas.

Even Landon Collins vs Marshon Lattimore gives each team one great player in their respective secondaries.

But, in what might be a shootout of a game, the battle that offers the most intrigue is Alvin Kamara vs Saquon Barkley.

Kamara was one of the breakout rookie running backs from last season and Saquon is expected to be one this year.

Kamara has been relatively shut down this season. In fact, he has yet to hit 100 yards rushing in a game. The thing where Kamara shines is similar to Barkley.

He is a running back who can get it done in the passing game. Kamara has over 100 yards receiving in two games this season already.

He was a pro-bowler and rookie of the year last year.

He put the league on notice.

So, that is exactly what Saquon Barkley has the chance to do this week. Saquon finally eclipsed 100 yards rushing in a game last week, but he too is a dual threat because he can also catch passes. Saquon has led his team in a receiving in a game this year.

Kamara vs Barkley is riveting.

Both are young players who are wildly dynamic. It is not a matter of will they make a big play on Sunday, but when they will make a big play Sunday.

The game itself might not come down to the play of Barkley of Kamara directly. Both teams are not that complete yet.

However, they both have the potential to decide the game.

Much like Kamara put the league on notice last year, Barkley has can do the same this year.

In a big game like Giants-Saints, the stage is set and there will be people from all over watching.

Barkley is the number two overall pick. So that means he already comes with this type of natural hype that people want to see.

But, he has the chance to show people that he is the best young back in the league and that his dual-threat ability is the best in the NFL.

By Saquon going out there and being Saquon, it will allow the Giants to match up well with the Saints’ juggernaut offense.

This could even be the game that the Giants finally get more than 30 points in a game. That will happen if Saquon Barkley makes a lot of plays.

Overall, this is one of the biggest games of the Week. I’d even argue it even the most interesting of all the Sunday games scheduled this week.
