No-han

The only player on this list who is not really a legend of the team, is Johan Santana. But, his disappointing Mets career almost ended exactly after he threw the team’s only no-hitter to date.

2012 was his last season with the Mets after being bombarded by injuries during it. He only made 10 more starts after his June 1, 2012 no-hitter.

That was one of those wild nights in Mets history. 2012 ended up having some wild things happen down the road as the franchise celebrated its 50th season.

However, it is only appropriate that Santana’s no-hitter is still one of the best moments in Mets history.

He was supposed to be the pitcher that helped bring the Mets to elite levels. He had nothing more than a few decent seasons. Really, the only thing worth noting of his Mets tenure is the no-hitter.

It will be a moment that no one will ever forget, but it was also Johan Santana’s last great moment ever of what was a pretty solid career overall.

This is still maybe the best pitching performance by a Mets pitcher in a regular season game in a long-time. It took some luck, skill, and more luck, but it happened.

The “last hurrah” for Johan Santana as a Met ended up being a no-hitter. Few scattered starts here and there after, but it is not like Tiger Woods will never play again, and this what this list is based on of.

Also, it was the best possible way for Johan to end his Mets career, by doing something the team has never seen before. Still to this day that stands true.
