The New York Jets did not suffer one of their worst losses in their history on Thursday night. Here are five games that were far worse.

Make no mistake about it. The New York Jets suffered a bad loss against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.

Anytime you go into halftime with an 11 point lead and end up on the short end of the game, it’s a bad loss. That is not in dispute here.

What IS in dispute, however, is this very strange narrative coming up around the Jets fan base over the last few days.

It has popped up with fans, and it has even appeared in print. The opinion that is coming to the forefront is that people believe that Thursday night was one of the worst losses in Jets franchise history.

Again, was it a bad loss? Absolutely. Was it one of the worst in team history? Absolutely not. It really isn’t that close if we look at it honestly.

People watching the Jets for a long time know that they have suffered a great many losses. They have suffered a lot more losses than any of us want to talk about.

This morning, we are going to look at five of those losses, in chronological order.

This post isn’t going to bring a lot of joy, but it will remind everyone that losing on the road by four points, with a rookie quarterback playing his third game in 11 days just isn’t really that bad in the grand scheme.
