More from Empire Writes Back

All of a sudden, the Browns have some players. We aren’t just talking about the high draft picks either.

At 28 years old, Carlos Hyde begins his first season with the Browns after four with the San Francisco 49ers.

Hyde is coming off of back-to-back 900+ yard rushing seasons, and that says a lot with him playing on some very weak 49ers teams.

He makes his living between the tackles, with ten of his 22 rushes so far coming from left to right guard per Pro Football Focus (subscription required).

Hyde has faced the Jets one time in his career and he posted 193 yards on 17 carries. This came back in 2016 during a 23-17 loss to the Jets.

He has only averaged 2.8 yards per carry so far on the young season but that doesn’t mean that the Jets won’t have their hands full.

Carlos Hyde will be a significant test for the Jets front seven. Leonard Williams and company had better be ready for him.
