The New York Rangers have an interesting season ahead as they continue to transform the franchise into a new young and hip team. If this year should show us anything, it will be what youngster will lead the way there.

The New York Rangers have a strange season ahead as their roster is still in limbo while in the midst of this rebuilding process.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is certainly enough talent to compete on this team, however, there will be a lot of opportunity for prospects and unproven players to make a name for themselves this season, which means this will also be a learning process.

As this year is obviously a long stretch to say that a Stanley Cup could be in the stars, I still think it will be one that has a variety of new and interesting story lines.

The Rangers have put themselves in position to grow some new talent right from the roots at the Garden (no pun intended) and this year will be the showcasing for it.

Last year we saw some of the team’s best talent pack their bags in trades so youngsters could start to develop this year. Finally, training camp is here, where we will get to see a first glimpse at what this modified team will gel like in a fresh season.

While there will be a couple new brand new names to the lineup this year, we have already gotten some samples of who I think will be a breakout talent for the Rangers this season.
