Obviously, Ereck  Flowers is a key.

In perhaps the worst matchup of this game, we will see Ereck Flowers vs the World. Ereck Flowers, who is coming off what we shouldn’t even call a performance, needs to play remotely competently if the Giants want to win.

Ereck Flowers will be facing the persistent pass rush of the Cowboys. However, at this point, when it comes to this guy the biggest battle is him vs himself.

Flowers, had a tripping penalty against the Jags. That is pretty much all that needs to be said there. We have all seen it and it didn’t work out to well for him.

So, as long as he literally does not do something like that again, it is not good, but progress.

Asking Flowers to do get better and all of a sudden become not terrible over night is a high order. That simply will not happen. But, the Giants do not have much of a choice either. They need to keep putting him out there and hope for the best.

Barring another tripping penalty or another awful mental mistake, this will not be Ereck Flowers’ last game. However, it could be another abysmal showing that cost the Giants a game.

It is not the right situation for the Giants to be in where one of their lineman needs to learn how to not trip and beat themselves before they can actually play the position but that is the reality.

Flowers makes or breaks Week 2. dark. Next

So, if the Giants see even fractional improvement from Flowers, they will better off then they were last week. It takes 11 to beat the Cowboys, but really enough from the right people will do.
