4. Kidd’s spin lead pass

This pass may not make most top five plays of Jason Kidd’s long and illustrious career, but I think the skill to do this is pretty unmatched.

In 2011, Kidd was a sprightly 37 years old, and still grinding away 80 games for the Dallas Mavericks. During his second go around in Dallas, the knees weren’t working as well for Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki.

However, the Mavs knew what he was once able to bring, throwing a flashback to this. In this play, Kidd, with his crafty veteran prowess, pokes the ball away from Nate Robinson.

Kidd took the ball and looked up court to a streaking teammate. Instead of heaving a pass overhead that could get picked off or fly out-of-bounds, he has the wherewithal to spin the ball 60 feet up the court.

The toss looked very similar to a professional bowler tossing his ball down the alley. The ball beats the other Net player down the court!

He picks it up and lays it in without a defender in sight.

This play is certainly not the best play in Kidd’s career, but definitely up there with the more impressive ones. 4.65/5 spilled drinks for this strike.
