The New York Giants season is nearly upon us. The Giants are ready, but the Jacksonville Jaguars present a unique challenge early for them.

The New York Giants will have their collective hands full when the Jaguars come around Sunday. Blake Bortles. may not strike much fear into a defenses heart, but the running style of Leonard Fournette and T.J Yeldon may be enough to guide the Jaguars offense to success.

The Giants’ defense has been made over in the form of a much more aggressive attacking style 3-4.

So, hopefully with dominant run defender Damon “Snacks” Harrison the Giants defense will be able to put the Jaguars in tough positions all game long and give their own offense a chance to get things started.

This will be the first real taste of what new Defensive Coordinator James Bettcher can bring to Big Blue.

Coming out of the preseason, Alec Olgetree and Landon Collins will be two of the captains on defense. They will also be two of the prominent tacklers that the Giants will be depending on right in the middle of their defense.

Two young converted ends will have a chance to show their instant growth and value. Dalvin Tomlinson and B.J Hill will have first go at creating penetration and stopping the run.

Kerry Wynn will get another chance with Giants in a new defense that seems to highlight his skill set. Also, with the addition of Mario Edwards, the Giants should have a decent line rotation even with his limited knowledge of the play book.

On the flip side, everyone is already concerned about what the Giants offense will look like this year.

First let me start by saying Saquon Barkley will be what he has always been, barring injury he will run well break big runs and hopefully rejuvenate the ground game.

No he his not the second coming of Walter Payton, Barry Sanders and Jim Brown combined, but give the kid a chance to be himself.

Wayne Gallman Jr. won the backup job and gives the Giants another big back to run into a tough Jaguars front. Meaning that this will also be a good first test for the Giants Offensive line.

In what is a highly followed battle, Odell Beckham Jr vs Jalen Ramsey has the potential to take over this game.

The Giants will get to see their almost 100 million dollar man on the field for the first time in a game that matters in almost 10 months.

Ramsey will undoubtedly be matched up with Odell all day. The battle is all the more interesting knowing the polarizing personalities of the individuals can get in the way of the football itself.

Beckham must conduct himself the right way on the field, with great money comes great responsibility.

First, we all want to see Odell tear it up against the Jalen (unless you’re a Jaguars fan).

Secondly, if things don’t go well against Ramsey right off the bat, we want to see Odell be more mature and start to grow into a leader that is able to help the Giants not hurt.

If Odell can be the amazing talent that we all know him to be and the electrifying dynamo that wowed the world when he first came up, this can be the best Giants offense Eli has played with.

The combination of Manning, Beckham, Engram, Saquon and Sterling may be enough weapons to get the Giants on track even if the line has only improved to being average.
