LeGarrette  Blount

Here is a guy that has had staying power around this league. After a strong rookie season in Tampa Bay, he fell off the map for a few years until he surfaced in New England.

At 6-0, 247 pounds, LeGarrette Blount is a tough man to bring down. Take a look at the season he had in 2016. For the Patriots he rushed for 1,161 yards AND led the league with 18 rushing touchdowns.

That’s a combination of power and speed that isn’t duplicated very often around this great league.

Blount has not fared well in his career to date against the Jets. In six previous contests he has scored twice and only averaged 21.5 yards per game.

That doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be taken seriously. This is a new front seven for the Jets.

Nathan Shepherd will be a key man to watch. Can he make some plays up front while occupying bodies, freeing up Leonard Williams and friends?

A big game from Blount will be a bad sign for the Jets. This man must be kept down, because if he runs well, the passing game will open up and that will be it.
