New York Giants: 3 Reasons why the Giants can beat the Jaguars in Week 1
The New York Giants season is finally here as they open at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1:00 PM on Sunday. The Jags are a tough team, but the Giants could still find a way to win.
The New York Giants do not have a rich history against the Jaguars per say, but the Jags still are run by Tom Coughlin, who Giants fans know very well to spark up a little bit of pride in this Week 1 matchup.
However, this Sunday ushers in a whole new era of Giants football. It’ll be the first regular season game with Saquon Barkley at the helm.
In addition, the Dave Gettleman/Pat Shurmur era will take its turn to try to bring big blue back to prominence.
As for their opponents, they are looking to improve on being just one win short of making it to their first ever Super Bowl.
It is not often that these AFC/NFC matchups have significant meaning, but this one is unique in its own way.
The teams may only play every four years, but that does not mean they do not count. In what is a unique stat, these teams rank 3-3 all-time against each other in the regular season.
That means something has got to give on Sunday. More importantly, one team gets to start 2018 off on a high note in what will be another wild season of NFL football.
Both teams have nothing to work to with in terms of prior games played. They have the preseason to go off of and that is it.
On Sunday, the Giants will face a tough team, but in a good situation at home. So, the Giants should be realistic, but they can still win.
Let’s begin our 2018 Giants regular season coverage with telling you why they can come up with a win against Tom Coughlin and the Jaguars.
