Here we are tracking the New York Jets moves on Sunday, including tracking the practice squad as well as other moves and potential moves.

It’s the day after cut day, so the New York Jets and the rest of the NFL are putting in their waiver claims and assembling their practice squads.

It’s the time where the initial 53 man rosters get tweaked once more before the season becomes a reality.

The Jets have holes to fill, and players are out there for the taking. Let’s get to the news.

As far as waiver claims go, the Jets didn’t get anyone. Want to know why?

They didn’t claim anyone! Take a look:

This is odd. Seemingly every team puts in waiver claims every season.

The Jets were sixth on the list in waiver claim priority, meaning they would have had a good shot at any player they may have wanted.

General manager Mike Maccagnan clearly wasn’t impressed with the players on the waiver wire.

That doesn’t mean the Jets are done. They are free to negotiate with and/or sign any player that didn’t have to clear waivers.

With four years or more vested in the league, being cut on cut day means you become a free agent immediately.

The Jets currently have one player slated to come in for a workout:

Fans aren’t thrilled with this idea and that is understandable. Perriman has underwhelmed so far in his time in the NFL.

Since being selected in the first round of the 2015 draft, he has managed just 43 receptions. That is far below the expectations of a first round pick, no matter what number they were.

Now we get to the practice squad tracker. This will be updated as news comes in:

The rest are per Connor Hughes:

  • OT Diegot Joseph
  • DL Bronson Kaufusi

Luvu is no surprise, and adding linebackers in general as well as defensive backs makes sense. The team needs depth in both of these spots.

Burnett and Falah are both USC guys, one was Darnold’s center and the other was his top target.

Talk about making a guy feel right at home!
