The New York Yankees have had their fair share of injuries lately, losing some of their top players to the DL. But, what will a healthy team look like?

The New York Yankees have lost just about everyone for some period of time since the All-Star break. This being said, we haven’t seen a healthy team in the Bronx in over two months.

So, when the Yankees are finally healthy, what will they look like?

The Yankees currently have four key players on the DL:

Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez were both supposed to be out only 3-4 weeks, but obviously they have both surpassed that 3-4 week mark.

It was reported that Sanchez was making some progress, however, as he hit a homered in two straight games for the AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders.

If he can homer in two straight games at the AAA level this must mean he’s not too far from making a return to the Bronx.

More good news came from Yankee Stadium on Wednesday afternoon when Didi Gregorius did some jogging prior to the Yankees game against the White Sox.

This being said you can expect the return of Didi and Sanchez in the near future. As for the other two, it may be a little longer.

Judge has yet to return to the field in any form and has been on the 10-day DL since July 27th and has missed 31 games.

Chapman, on the other hand, received his second Platelet Rich Plasma injection in five days on Tuesday and will be re-evaluated in a week.

This being said, it is very likely we don’t see Judge or Chapman until after Labor Day.

So, what will the Yanks look like when they have a full roster?

The Yankees used to trail the Red Sox by double digits but they have since gotten that mark down to as little as 5.5 but it is unfortunately back to seven and a half at the time of this writing.

But, what would happen to that mark if the Yankees were to have a fully healthy team?

What will happen when Judge, Sanchez, Gregorius and Chapman are all back?

Is it possible for the Yankees to catch the Red Sox in the East?

When the Yankees are fully healthy and are back to their everyday starting lineup they have a serious chance at catching up to a degree in the AL East.

With six more games coming up against the Red Sox, the Yankees have a shot to make up the lost ground and possibly even catch up in the East, as crazy as that may sound.

When the Yankees were swept in four games against the Red Sox in early August they were without both Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez, plus their pitching woes with J.A. Happ, Luis Cessa, Lance Lynn and more.

If the Yanks have a full roster heading into the series that starts on September 18th in the Bronx (which they should), they should be able to compete with the Red Sox.

Next. September needs to be big things only for the Yanks. dark

When the Yankees are back to a full squad, you can expect them to put some serious heat on the Red Sox and challenge them for the AL East crown.
