Jason Kidd: Three reasons why the Nets legend deserves his spot in the Hall of Fame
Personal resume is up there with the best of them
Of course, you cannot rank all-time great, Hall of Fame basketball players without looking at what they accomplished as individual players.
Not only did Kidd have a career that lasted almost 20 seasons, he managed to accomplish almost everything a player possibly could in a career.
If you put all else aside, and don’t include just how big an impact he had on the teams he played for, Kidd is already a Hall of Famer.
Here is a list of just a few of his personal accolades:
- NBA Champion (with the Mavericks)
- 2x Eastern Conference Champion (with the Nets)
- 10x NBA All-Star (with three different teams, Nets, Suns, and Mavericks)
- 5x NBA Assists leader (with the Suns and Nets)
- 5x All-NBA First teams (with the Suns and Nets)
Those are only some of his personal achievements. Throw in even more All-NBA team appearances and a co-rookie of the year and you can make that list like 10 bullet points longer.
Kidd is an elite NBA player, we must never forget how good he was on the defensive end of the ball. In a scoring NBA, where offense gets all the glory, Kidd was an All-NBA defender who ranks second all-time in steals.
Jason Kidd is easy to appreciate for all he has done for literally every team he played for. Including his days back at Cal where he also has his number retired.
But, sometimes it okay to bask in individual glory. Kidd has a lot of it and is probably the main reason he finds himself bound to go to the Hall of Fame.
