New York Jets: Three players who need a big performance on Thursday
Ben Braden
The Jets need depth on the offensive line. They have needed it for a great many years. One of the biggest knocks on the Mike Maccagnan era is that he has had difficulty finding mid to late round draft picks to serve as depth pieces.
There is room for Ben Braden here. The team has had some injury problems on the starting offensive line in camp so we have gotten an in-depth look at some of the “depth”.
It hasn’t been good.
Brent Qvale has spent time as the starting left tackle. To call him bad would be an understatement. If Kelvin Beachum goes down there will be problems for Sam Darnold and company.
Jonotthan Harrison has played right guard and he has played poorly as well. One of their top backups, Ben Ijalana, is out for the year on injured reserve. There is an absolute hole for a backup lineman.
If Braden plays well on Thursday night he will get his chance to stick on the final 53.
