Neville  Hewitt

Well he used to be on the Miami Dolphins, but now Neville Hewitt is vying for a spot in the linebacker room with the Jets.

He has done more than competed, I believe he has earned said spot as a backup linebacker.

Hewitt picked off a pass against the Atlanta Falcons, adding two passes defended and eight tackles on what was a good night for him.

For the preseason, Hewitt is second in the league with 21 total tackles, proving that he belongs.

Now is he going to bring any kind of edge presence? It doesn’t appear that way. The Jets are going to have to get creative to make that happen.

Unless, of course, they acquire Kahlil Mack or Dante Fowler. A fella can dream.

However, they will get an able-bodied linebacker to be part of the rotation with Neville Hewitt. He can make a tackle and make a play on the football.

With no superstars the next best thing is to have a quality rotation.

Look for Hewitt to stick on this team.
