The New York Yankees finally seem to be back in a groove as the season heads down its mort important stretch. Despite the great play as of late, there are still players who are too valuable to flounder down the stretch.

The New York Yankees are rolling. They are coming off a home-stretch that saw them sweep the Toronto Blue Jays in three games.

The offense has come back to life getting respectable production out of almost every one at this point.

However, the season is far from over and with the AL playoff race almost set in stone, the Yankees need to ensure that they remain a part of it.

With Aaron Judge already injured, and Didi Gregorius now set to miss time too, it becomes important the Yankees get consistent production from certain players.

Judge and Didi are players that are tough to lose, but no injury should stop the Yankees or any team 30 games over .500 from making a run.

The New York Yankees will be fine in the playoff race as long as they keep scoring runs. Their rotation is finally coming around and the bullpen still needs work but is what it is.

The love/hate relationship the fans have with Greg Bird has been put to bed the last few days because the once coveted first baseman showed us that he can still change the game with one swing of the bat.

However, he has not been an integral part of the season so far and the Yankees’ success does not and will not depend on his bat.

So, with that being said, who are the most important players for the Yankees down the stretch?

Whose production can the Yankees afford to lose the least?

Let’s start with someone you might have heard of.
